About Us

Girls Inc. of Northern Alberta (Girls Inc.) is the only non-profit organization in the Wood Buffalo region offering gender-specific programming with a mission to inspire all girls to be strong, smart and bold.

Operating since 1979 on the lands of Treaty 8 territory, the traditional meeting ground, gathering place, travelling route and home of the Cree, Dene and Métis people for thousands of years, we provide girls 6 to 18 years old with the knowledge and skills needed to break free from gender stereotypes, create social change and be proud of who they are.

Girls Inc. visions a world in which all girls value their whole-selves, discover their inherent strengths and achieve their goals. We are committed to working towards a diverse, equitable and inclusive society where girls can thrive as agents of change and future leaders.
